Poll: Voters Support Trump’s Spending, Staffing Plans

Donald Trump continually proves that he has his finger on the pulse of America. Rasmussen reports that a recent survey reveals most voters support Trump’s plans to cut federal spending and reduce staffing levels. ┬áTrump has proposed major cuts in spending by up to 10%, and to reduce staffing levels by 20% throughout the federal government. From the report, “Rasmussen’s┬ánational telephone and online survey finds that 54% of Likely U.S. Voters favor a proposal that would cut spending up to 10% and cut staffing up to 20% in some federal government agencies. Twenty-seven percent (27%) oppose such cuts, while 19% are undecided. ”

What was surprising is that many people felt the President’s proposed cuts weren’t deep enough.

The national telephone survey of 1,000 Likely Voters was conducted by Rasmussen Reports on January 17-18, 2017. The margin of sampling error for the survey is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Fieldwork for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC.
